Headteacher's Update 6th February 2026
This week has been full of exciting competitions at King Offa. We have continued our inter-school Reading Challenge against the other schools in the Aurora Trust, with pupils working hard to quiz regularly and boost our overall score. Years 3 to 6 have also been enthusiastically tackling Times Table Rock Stars as we aim to climb the leaderboard by increasing our total number of correct answers. Thank you for the support at home in encouraging pupils to practice their multiplication facts and read regularly.
King Offa pupils also demonstrated outstanding sportspersonship at an Inclusive Football event at Horntye this week. Mr Bennett and Mrs Gale were incredibly proud to see our pupils cheering each other on and even supporting children from other schools. One child from another school chose to join our team because our students were so friendly and welcoming. Alongside the wonderful attitude and teamwork on display, there were some excellent football skills too, highlighted by a fantastic goal in our opening match. Thank you to our pupils for truly embodying our school values of Pride and Opportunity!
Meanwhile, Year 6 have now completed their second round of practice SATs, and they have been remarkable. Early indications have shown significant progress since the previous round last November. It is wonderful to see that pupils’ hard work, combined with the expert guidance of their teachers and support staff, has led to such positive results. Well done, Year 6!
