Head's Update

Headteacher's Update 1st May 2026

This week we have been reflecting on our school environment. We are extremely fortunate to have such wonderful facilities and space at King Offa, but maintaining a school that was built in 1907 takes a great deal of care. Staff have been refreshing classrooms to create truly irresistible spaces for learning, while pupils have been busy improving our outdoor areas. This has been especially evident through the efforts of our voluntary Year 3 gardeners.

I have been incredibly impressed by the whole school community for their dedication to keeping our school in tip‑top condition. In particular, thank you to the group from Year 4 who kindly helped tidy the playground after the fresh breeze — and the ever‑present, sneaky seagulls! Similarly to our Year 1 and 2 pupils for sweeping the escaped sand and soil from our play areas.

Energy levels have remained high this week as all pupils enjoyed a Jolf experience. No, it’s not a typo — Jolf stands for junior golf. Our Year 6 pupils did a fantastic job supporting our youngest learners, demonstrating how to hold a club and helping them navigate the various obstacles. Congratulations to those who won the Golden Ball, awarded to pupils who demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and outstanding support for others.

With the long weekend ahead, this is a welcome opportunity to recharge and reflect as we reach the halfway point of the term. I am looking forward to immersing myself in a good book and spending time with my family, and I hope you are able to enjoy some quality time together as well.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Towner
