Headteacher's Update 22nd May 2026
King Offa truly lived up to its name this week, thanks to the wonderful efforts of our Year 1 pupils. They enjoyed a very royal day filled with banquets, regal gowns and archery, all while developing their historical understanding. Watching the children arrive in the morning was quite a spectacle—I’m sure I even spotted members of the local community stepping aside and offering the occasional curtsy!
It wasn’t only Year 1 who dressed differently this week. All pupils were invited to take part in a mufti day, wearing outfits that made them feel happy. The day was supported by our fantastic PTFA, who collected generous donations ahead of our Summer Fair. Be sure to save the date: Saturday 4th July.
Continuing our extensive programme of educational visits, both Year 4 and a group from Year 6 were out and about this week. Year 4 did not let the rain dampen their spirits as they visited Michelham Priory as part of their learning about the Medieval period. Staff at the venue were highly complimentary about our pupils’ behaviour and enthusiasm. Likewise, our Year 6 pupils represented the school brilliantly at a crazy golf tournament, earning praise and achieving a very respectable 6th place out of 18 schools. Well done to all involved—you made us very proud.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership in helping us deliver another hugely successful term.
The water is in the pool, the filter and the heaters are on, ready for swimming when we return. See you in term 6.
Take care.
