    Headteacher's Update 9th October 2026

Another Fantastic Week at King Offa

Our Year 6 pupils did not just survive their residential trip to PGL, they absolutely thrived! I had the pleasure of visiting on Tuesday evening and joining in with the "Around the World" orienteering activity. I was particularly impressed by my team's excellent knowledge of the different counties.

Throughout the trip, every pupil showed determination, resilience and courage. They challenged themselves, overcame fears and supported one another every step of the way. They have undoubtedly created lifelong memories and developed skills that will benefit them for years to come. Well done, Year 6! A huge thank you must also go to our amazing staff, whose dedication and enthusiasm made the experience possible. I suspect there will be plenty of catching up on sleep this weekend!

As we approach the winter months, our assembly this week focused on how we can stay healthy and maximise our time in school. Our Year 1 and Year 2 pupils shared some excellent advice. Dottie reminded us about the importance of eating nutritious food and drinking plenty of water. Ramsey encouraged everyone to keep active and exercise regularly, while Lilianna highlighted the need for a sensible bedtime routine.

The children also recognised that we may feel a little under the weather from time to time, but that many minor illnesses do not stop us from attending school. Henry reminded us to cover our mouths when we cough and to wash our hands regularly to help prevent the spread of germs. Thank you to our Key Stage 1 pupils for sharing such thoughtful and practical advice. It is certainly something I will be keeping in mind over the coming weeks and months.

Looking ahead, on Monday 19th October we will be welcoming families to our Prospective Parents' Evening from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. We warmly invite both families who are new to King Offa and those who already have children attending the school.

Although it feels as though the school year has only just begun, we are already planning for next year's Reception intake. At King Offa, we are always thinking ahead and working to ensure that every child enjoys a smooth and successful transition into school life. We look forward to meeting prospective families and sharing what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.
