Online Safety

Online Safety

At King Offa Primary Academy, we recognise the valuable role that modern technology plays in children’s learning. When used well, digital tools can enrich lessons and help pupils explore and develop their ideas in exciting ways. At the same time, we understand how important it is for children to learn how to keep themselves safe online. We are fully committed to safeguarding our pupils and reducing any risks to their wellbeing.

Online safety is embedded throughout our Computing and Wellbeing curriculum. All pupils, from every year group, are taught age-appropriate skills and knowledge to help them navigate the online world safely. These lessons are revisited throughout the year to ensure children build confidence and understanding over time.

If you have an online safety concern, please contact Miss Satchell via the school office.

PARENTAL SUPPORT

The internet offers children countless opportunities to explore, socialise and express their creativity. But because the online world evolves so quickly, it can be difficult for parents to stay fully aware of how their children are using technology. Many adults feel that their child is more confident online than they are, yet young people still rely on guidance and protection as they learn to navigate digital spaces safely.

Below are some helpful online tools and resources to support conversations about online safety at home:
