    Headteacher's Update 16th January 2026

Now fully into the swing of term, we continue to make great progress across the school. Following  insights from the Autumn assessments, pupils have been working hard to build their confidence in areas that they previously found challenging. Their determination is inspiring—so much so that Sonny was spotted enthusiastically sharing his fraction work with Mrs Smith on the playground during break! A huge thank you for all of the continued support at home – regular reading and encouraging practice on Times Tables Rock Stars make a real difference.

After visiting breakfast and after-school club this week, it is clear that we have some potential Chess champions. Jimmie took the title on one of the days, but by all accounts games are always closely contested. What impressed me most was the eagerness of newcomers to learn and the supportive way experienced players shared their knowledge. If you need any tips, just ask Hayden.

Ingredients prepared, pinny on. Ready, steady, bake! We look forward to round one of the Great King Offa Bake Off on Monday 19th January followed by the grand final on Friday 23rd January. Winners will be announced next week. Feel free to get in some practice over the weekend. Take care,
