Headteacher's Update 23rd January 2026
Channel 4 could certainly have benefitted from including the pupils of King Offa in their search for a new host of one of their most popular TV shows. The Great King Offa Bake Off would no doubt have earned plenty of Hollywood handshakes!
Every pupil decorated a cake inspired by one of our core school values: opportunity. The designs were bursting with colour, creativity, and individuality, each one clearly expressing the baker’s own vision. Winners from each year group are now competing in the grand final, with the overall champion to be announced next week.
Attendance this term has shown a welcome boost—hopefully a sign that we’ve left the winter bugs behind, but also a reflection of families recognising the importance of being in school. Congratulations to Mandela Class, who are rapidly improving, and to Seacole Class, who have maintained the highest attendance rates.
At King Offa, the safety and well-being of our school community always come first. This week, Aurora Trust’s Safeguarding Director completed a full safeguarding audit of our school, and we were very pleased with the outcome. Among the many strengths highlighted was the smooth and respectful conduct of our drop-off and pick-up routines. Thank you to all families for following these processes so well and for showing such consideration to one another. We are extremely fortunate to have such a supportive community.
Take care, and have a wonderful weekend.
