    Headteacher's Update 13th February 2026

Today we were all captivated by the wonderful artwork on display from Year 3. The children have recently completed a project inspired by Antony Gormley’s Field for the British Isles. Each pupil sculpted a geometric human form, and together these pieces combined to create a remarkable installation—our very own Field of King Offa.

It may be an FA Cup weekend, but the real match of interest this week was Hastings U12 vs. Millwall U12. We are extremely proud to share that Teddy in Year 6 was selected for the squad and, through his outstanding central midfield playmaking, helped lead the team to a 3–1 victory. In a tight game with strong challenges, the team had to work hard for the win. Well done, Teddy, and congratulations on the fantastic result.

Throughout the week, I have been leading tours for prospective candidates applying for our Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion role. We have been delighted by the high level of interest shown in our school. Every visitor has commented on our warm and welcoming community. As headteacher, I feel privileged to receive such positive feedback. Here is a small sample of recent comments:

    • “What a welcoming, kind school you are.”

    • “I want to say a massive thank you for organising such a spectacular performance! The Year 3 children did a fantastic job, and your hard work and dedication were clear to see.”

    • “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Year 5 today; your pupils are a credit to your school.”

Now, it’s time to put on our dancing shoes for the PTFA school disco before we all enjoy a short half-term break.

We look forward to leaping into spring when we return.
