    Headteacher's Update 6th March 2026

There is nothing quite like a dress‑up day to bring smiles to us all. This week culminated in our celebration of World Book Day, with pupils and staff arriving at school dressed as characters from their favourite books. I must admit I was a little disappointed that my costume as Albus Dumbledore didn’t come with magical powers—but I was still delighted to share the wonder and joy that books bring to our community.

Earlier in the week, we hosted our “Breakfast and a Book” family event. It was wonderful to see families reading together and starting the day with such a positive and calm atmosphere. This week has reminded us just how valuable—and how important—it is to read regularly.

Our Year 3 and Year 5 pupils were fortunate to enjoy the Spring sunshine during their activities. Year 3 practised their cycling skills during Bikeability, while Year 5 swung through the treetops on their visit to Bedgebury. We are extremely proud of our pupils for overcoming fears, embracing new opportunities, and representing our school so positively.

Our extracurricular programme continues for Years 2 and 6 next week, while the rest of the school will be celebrating their knowledge and progress during our Spring assessments. We are very much looking forward to seeing how far we have come.
