    Headteacher's update  - 20th March 2026

The spring sunshine has been a very welcome addition this week. We are fortunate to have an incredibly warm and welcoming school community whatever the weather, but the brighter days have certainly brought even more smiles and cheer across King Offa.

On Wednesday morning, I was delighted to wish Year 2 well as they set off for their school trip to Drusilla’s. I explained to the pupils that one of the most rewarding parts of being a Headteacher is receiving glowing feedback about how wonderfully our children represent the school when they are out in the community. This trip was no exception—Year 2 pupils have once again done King Offa proud.

It has been wonderful to enjoy so many trips this year. I know that Year 3 and Year 4 are looking forward to their visits to Herstmonceux Science Centre and Michelham Priory next term. Taking time to talk about and reflect on a trip the following day is an important part of the experience. It supports pupils in building resilience, helping them learn to keep going even when they feel a little tired. I am very grateful to our families for supporting this by ensuring attendance is maintained.

Another highlight of the week was our Musical Theatre Group’s performance at the De La Warr Pavilion for Sing’spiration. The group joined other community members to form a large choir, and King Offa students were praised for their confidence and the significant contribution they made to a truly joyous evening.

We are now only a few days away from welcoming Olympic badminton player Heather Olver to our school. Thank you for supporting our pupils with their sponsorship efforts, which will help fund new sports equipment for the school and contribute towards supporting British athletes.

    Yours Faithfully
