Headteacher's Update 26th June 2026
A Sweltering Week at King Offa!
What a week it has been for us all in this record-breaking heat! It has been wonderful to see how the King Offa community has risen to the challenge, showing such care, resilience and consideration for one another. Pupils have done a fantastic job making sensible choices and supporting those who may be more vulnerable in the hot weather.
Although we were disappointed not to be able to hold our Sports Days as planned, we were incredibly grateful for the kind gesture from Theo and Ivy’s mum, who, alongside the school, provided ice poles for pupils on Thursday afternoon—much appreciated by everyone! We are very much looking forward to hosting our rescheduled Sports Days at the end of the summer term.
We are also extremely excited that, thanks to the generosity of our community through fundraising events—combined with investment from the school—work on our new Key Stage 2 playground will begin next week. This does mean we have had to say a fond farewell to our much-loved pirate ship, which has brought joy to so many children over the past decade. We thank you for your patience while the new development takes place; the small disruption will certainly be worth it when the project is complete.
Finally, we would like to wish our Year 6 pupils the very best as they attend their secondary school transition events next week. Their maturity, kindness and positive attitudes make us incredibly proud, and we are confident they will make a fantastic impression. We look forward to hearing all about their experiences when they return for the final weeks of term.
Please continue to take care in the sunshine and stay safe.
Yours faithfully,
