    Headteacher's Update 3rd July 2026

Last week, we announced that the redevelopment of the Key Stage 2 playground would begin on Monday. I am delighted to share that the contractors arrived as scheduled and have made excellent progress throughout the week. As you can see, the new play equipment is already taking shape and will be a fantastic addition to our school. Once again, I would like to express my sincere thanks to our school community. This exciting project has been made possible through your generosity, support and commitment to our school. We are hopeful that the work will be completed in time for our Year 6 pupils to enjoy before they move on to the next stage of their education.

This week also marked an important step in preparing for the new academic year. Across the school, pupils took part in transition activities and had the opportunity to meet their teachers for September. Our new Reception children joined us for a successful Stay and Play session, which introduced them to our school environment and the caring staff who will support them. Pupils from Reception to Year 5 spent the morning in their new classrooms with their next teacher. I was incredibly impressed by the confidence, kindness and maturity they demonstrated as they made new friends and strengthened existing relationships.

Meanwhile, our Year 6 pupils spent much of the week visiting their prospective secondary schools. The feedback we received from those schools was overwhelmingly positive, with staff commenting on the excellent conduct, attitude and character of our children. Well done, Year 6—it is wonderful to hear that you are taking the King Offa spirit with you.

We hope many of you will be able to join us on Saturday for our Summer Fair. The PTFA has organised a fantastic range of activities and attractions for everyone to enjoy. Personally, I am particularly looking forward to a refreshing soaking while sitting in the stocks for the sponge-throwing challenge! Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our school community.

    Yours faithfully,
