With such an action-packed week, I’m not quite sure where to begin!

In fact, our week started last weekend with our Summer Fair. We were absolutely delighted by the success of the first Summer Fair organised by our recently established PTFA. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, hear laughter throughout the day and experience such a fantastic sense of community. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended and supported the event, an incredible £5,200 was raised. These funds will be invested directly back into the school, with pupils and their families helping to shape how they are used. My personal highlight was the popular Soak the Teacher event! As Mr Bennett demonstrates in the photograph, it was certainly a refreshing way to cool down on a hot summer’s day.

The excitement continued throughout the week with a number of educational visits. Year 1 enjoyed meeting and learning about a variety of animals at Sharnfold Farm, while Year 5 took part in a multi-school cricket festival hosted by Mulberry Bexhill Academy. Year 5 were fortunate enough to have two trips this week, also visiting the beach as part of their Geography curriculum. Meanwhile, Year 2 headed onto the Downs to explore firsthand how elevated ground provided a strategic advantage in historical battles.

Across the year, our Year 4 pupils have worked incredibly hard to improve their multiplication fluency. This week, I had the pleasure of celebrating those pupils who achieved “Green” status on Times Tables Rock Stars. It was fantastic to see so many children reach this impressive milestone. Well done, Year 4!

Alongside the Summer Fair, we also welcomed families to our Meet the Teacher event. It was clear to see the strength of the partnership between home and school as families and staff worked together to support a smooth transition into the next academic year. Seeing this collaboration in action was incredibly encouraging, and it is exciting to look ahead to the many opportunities and experiences that await our pupils in the year ahead.
