Headteacher's Update 26th September 2025
Remarkably our Wall of Excellence in the Hall of Pride was dominated by siblings this week. Congratulations to the Allchin family and the Partridge family for their fantastic achievements. I would like to know what they are eating for breakfast.
Talking of family, we were delighted to be supported by so many family volunteers on our sponsored walk. My own parents came to join us and they were taken back by how wonderful our Year 6s are. It is a surreal feeling to have got to the stage in life when you sponsor your own parents. The pupils showed real perseverance and dedication to complete their respective distances. How many miles do you think we collectively walk? Look out for our Facebook post to see the answer.
The sponsored walk was not our only trip this week. Year 5 visited the Bexhill Museum as part of their World War 2 curriculum. The curators at the museum commented how inquisitive and mature our pupils were. They were incredibly impressed with how well they represented themselves and King Offa. Well done year 5.
During assembly this week we celebrated the delights of reading. Pupils promoted their current literature which ranged from fantasy fiction to gripping biographies. I shared a book by Don Miguel Ruiz titled The Four Agreements; Be true to your word, Don’t take it personally, don’t make assumptions and always do your best. Values that help us to be supportive of others whilst also looking after our wellbeing.
Look after yourselves and others over the weeks to come.
Yours Faithfully, James Towner
