    Headteacher's Update Friday 19th September 2025

This week we celebrated our first selection of excellent work in our Hall of Pride. It was a joy to hear the compliments when pupils and guests saw the outstanding work. Ava-Rose was selected from Columbus class. Her smile captures beautifully the sense of pride for all the pupil’s achievements.

As Headteacher, I welcome feedback that will support our school. I know that most of the time our school community represents itself really well. Yesterday for instance, our new Rock Steady tutor commented; “King Offa pupils are so polite and lovely. I was so impressed by how many pupils stopped to open the doors for me.” I also know that sometimes we could do better. Families, pupils and staff have high expectations for behaviour at King Offa. This has been shared through surveys at the end of last year. In response, we are working with pupils to establish our Five Star Behaviours. A common agreement for what we all expect. We celebrate those that sustain the five-star standard and provide proportionate support for those that need it.

After school clubs are well underway. Sadly, I missed the country dancing on Wednesday, I am hoping to join in next week. I did, however, catch a rehearsal from the school choir. Their rendition of a popular favourite from Joseph and his Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat is really coming along. Look out for their performances later this year.

This time next week, we will have completed our whole school sponsored walk. I can’t wait!

    Yours Faithfully James Towner
